Liv & Sam's Winter, City, Micro Wedding

Updated: Nov 4, 2022

Living in the Netherlands, but planning a wedding in UK could be very stressful, but Liv & Sam organised and pulled off the most beautiful and intimate micro wedding, and tied the knot one week before Christmas, in Liverpool City centre!!

After ‘meeting’ them over a Zoom call, it was clear that they were the calmest bride and groom, and that their wedding was going to be wonderful. The first time I spoke to them face to face was after they said their vows, but we got along like a house on fire.

They chose the calming music of the Shire from The Lord of the rings movie for their wedding music, and they had the best registrar who made them kiss twice-yey!

Despite the extremely cold weather, we had a fantastic time taking their couple photographs, and they humoured my every request.

They chose the magnificent St George’s Hall as their venue to get married, but they also had a backdrop of the twinkling lights and huge ferris wheel of the Christmas markets, making their wedding photos truly special, with a little hint of December’s festivities. The photo possibilities were endless, and I was at my happiest as a wedding photographer.

Their wedding party was small- just them, along with 11 of their closest family members. They were a blast and braved the steep steps of St George’s Hall, and cold weather for some group photos.

After the ceremony and photos, Sam and Liv took a taxi to the ever so sleek Hope Street Hotel for a few celebratory drinks. Here I photographed them unposed, and just having fun! It was a stunning venue, with huge shards of glass embedded into the floor and ceiling, and a small forest of white trees with robins perched on their branches. Lots of candid smiles and laughter were photographed before they moved on to a nearby restaurant. It was here I said my goodbyes, and wished them a happy marriage and a very merry Christmas. What a wedding to end 2021 on! I’m still catching my breath!
